The period,  question mark, and exclamation point are used to end sentences. Their purpose is to help your reader follow your ideas and know how to read your writing.

Let's practice using these end marks of punctuation!

Read each sentence below and decide which end mark of punctuation should be used - the period,  question mark, or exclamation point - and click on the down arrow next to the asterisk (*) to check your answer.

  1. Have you ever eaten fortune cookies

It is important to remember that every sentence needs an end mark of punctuation and that the right end mark communicates to the reader how you want the sentence to be read and interpreted.
