Advanced  Thinking

A number plus its additive inverse always equals the additive identity
The Additive Identity is zero because it always gives us our original number back as the result.

1 + -1 = 0 -21 + 21 = 0
7.5 + -7.5 =0 -61.5 + 61.5 = 0
1/4 + -1/4 = 0 -5/18 + 5/18 = 0
