In the following exercises, you need to decide what is the appropriate representation of the problem.

Let's start with simpler problems!  Should an inequality or an equation be written?  No need to solve!

Sarah is 10 years older than Tim. Sarah is 15.  How old is Tim?

Write a number less than 9.

In a class of 25 kids, 13 are girls.  How many are boys?

14 less than a number is 20.  What is the number?

You want to find all dates in a year where the temperature was higher than 32°F.

Now let's try some harder ones!  Solve the problem, and check the answer.  If you need an explanation, click on the "Why?" button.
