Let's review the
multiplication rules for decimals:
count the number of decimal places
in each of the factors
multiply as usual, without
putting any decimal points in the partial products
add the decimal places of the two
factors together, then have that many decimal places in your new
product!
Before you try some REAL problems, let's see
if you
understand the basic rules!
How many decimal
places in 3.456?
How many decimal
places in 800?
In 5.1 x 3.2, how
many decimal places in the product?
