Order of Operations student worksheet
Directions: Copy this table into your math journal or on a clean sheet of paper. Express the numbers 1 - 10 by combining only the number "4" with a combination of mathematical operations. You must make sure you use the order of operations correctly and use parentheses when needed. e.g. (4 x 4 + 4)/4 = 5 There may be more than one answer for many of the digits. Then explain why your order of operation works, remembering to use "math" terms. When completed either a.) hand in to your teacher, or b) check your possible answers using the link at the bottom of the page. Have Fun!

5 = (4 x 4 + 4) / 4 | Doing inside the parentheses first, I got 4 x 4 = 16, then added the 4 inside the parentheses to get 20. Then I divided 20 by 4 and got 5. |
