How can Addition have an Identity??!!

Well, it doesn't really. What it has is an Identity Element. This means that whenever you add this Identity Element to something, the result is no different than the original number.

Can you guess what the number might be???

What number always gives you your original number back no matter what you add it to?
If you guessed ZERO you are right! Any number plus zero equals the original number.

9+0=9 198+0=198
7+0=7 0+5.6=5.6
0+5=5 6000+0=6000
7.5+0=7.5 0+38=38
