Circle Graphs
allow you to see how a part is related to the whole.

The larger the value of the information,
the bigger piece of the circle will be taken up.

Students were asked what their favorite food was.
45 out of 100 students (45 %) said Pizza was their favorite.

Notice that the Blue area represents Pizza,
and it has the largest wedge of the circle graph.

The light blue area represents Wings (10 %),
and it has the smallest wedge.

A Circle graph give you a "quick glance"
at the most and least amount of data.

Do You Get It ?

If the Circle graph represents 100 %,
think of the graph as a clock
divided into 1/4 and each being equal to
25 %

If you can think of each 1/4 wedge as being equal to 25 %,
then you can estimate amounts that are not labeled.

Upon further review:

Circle graphs
can be thought of being equal to 100%.
Each wedge (or slice) can be thought of
as a percent of the 100.
