Have you ever gone to another country and had to
exchange US money for their currency?

It is not as easy as you think! It can be challenging and can raise questions about current currencies rates.

First, you need to know what the exchange rate is at the present time.

By using an exchange rate chart and a calculator we will be able to convert money between different currencies.

The following chart represents the exchange rate for the date: November 9, 2008.

We will use this exchange rate chart.

US Dollar

Canadian Dollar

US Dollar 1 1.1884
Canadian Dollar 1.1884 1

If we were to visit Canada with $100 US dollars, we would want to exchange them for Canadian dollars.  If $1 US equals approximately $1.1884 we can multiply $100 by $1.1884 to find out how much in Canadian we would receive.

Click here to use the calculator.

We would receive $118.75 Canadian for $100 US.

Click on the Currency Converter to find the current value of currencies from around the world.

Let's practice!
