Sometimes in math problems, it is
necessary to state the same amount in different ways. Any given
amount can be expressed as a fraction, a decimal, and a percent.
e.g. ¾ =
0.75 75%
(Different names
for the same amount!)
|
You learned in
a former lesson that fractions can be changed to decimals and vice
versa! |
If you need to
review that skill, |
press this
button!
 |
| But
once you know how to change a fraction to a decimal, changing it to
a percent is easy! Let's review! |
|

|
Remember, to
change a fraction to a decimal, simply divide the numerator by the
denominator. |
|

|
Then, to change
a decimal to a percent, simply move the decimal point two places to
the right. Don't forget the % sign. |
 |
So, to change a
fraction to a percent.....
- first change the fraction
to a decimal
- then move the decimal
point two places to the right to express it as a percent!
|
So to change a
decimal to a percent, move the decimal point two places to the right,
and...... to change a fraction to a percent, first change it to a
decimal and then to a percent.
Let's
practice!
