Percents 
on a number line
make it easier to see which are
greater than or less than others.

You read a number line
from left to right, and
the decimals will become greater,
as you move from left to right.


        10%      20%     30%      40%     50%      60%     70%      80%     90%    100%

Remember:
Percent 
represents the part of a whole, or 100%.

(ie: 10% = 10 parts of 100)

This number line
shows that 40% is greater than 20%,
because 40% is further to the right
on the line.

On this number line
we can see that 50% is less than 80%,
because 50% comes before 80% on the line.
