We can use math to understand
the things around us.

We can estimate the number of:
spindles in a fence
strawberries in 4 quarts
chocolate chips in a bag of cookies
border around a bulletin board

If you counted 10 wooden spindles in one area of the fence,
You could estimate the number of spindles in the whole fence .

If you counted the number of strawberries in one quart,
You could estimate the number of strawberries in 4 quarts.

If you counted the chocolate chips in one cookies,
You could estimate the number of of chocolate chips in a bag of cookies.

If you counted the length of one section of border for the bulletin board,
You could estimate how much border you would need to go around the bulletin board.
