There were 4 BLACK cars; and twice as many RED than GREEN

If Mike had 87¢ in his pocket, but reaches in and pulls out only 2 quarters, 1 dime, and 2 pennies, would he be correct to think that he lost a quarter somewhere? 

 

3.                                                

There are 7 students and 5 adults  
going to the zoo. 
The student cost is $1 each to enter, 
and the adult cost is three-times that.
What will the total cost of everyone going be?

 

4.                                                          

Lori is planting flowers along her sidewalk.
She is following a pattern of 
3 purple, 2 red, and 3 pink flowers.
She is going to follow this pattern 
three times along each side of the sidewalk.
How many flowers will she end up planting?

 

5.                                                

Josh put a total of 24 vegetables into his salad.
There were 5 carrots and 10 lettuce leaves. 
The cucumbers and tomatoes were the remaining vegetables.
There were twice as many cucumbers as tomatoes.
How many cucumbers and tomatoes were there in the salad?
