Whole Numbers
are any numbers
zero or greater,
not consisting of 
decimals, fractions, or negative numbers.
(Ex: 0, 1, 4, 15, 45, 98 ...)

Greater Than (>) or Less Than (<) others.

In adding:
4 + 3 = 7

because starting at 4 and 
moving 3 spaces FORWARD to the RIGHT

would leave you at an answer of 7

When subtracting:
19 - 5 = 14

because starting at 19 and 
moving 5 spaces BACK to the LEFT

would leave you at an answer of 4

Upon further review:

Number lines can:

* help determine greater than and less than.

* help in solving number problems

when subtracting
numbers move to the left.
