Answer each of the questions below. For each problem, tell if you need an exact answer or an estimate. Then solve.

 

Phil noticed that there were five commercials in the half-hour television show that he watched. About how many commercials would he see if he watched television for five hours?

 

 

For each gallon of gasoline Mark puts in his boat, the boat can travel about 19 miles. The tank holds 21 gallons. About how far can he travel on one full tank?

 

Emilie has $5.00 to buy a burger and drink. The burger costs $3.75 and a soda costs $1.00. Does she have enough money?

 

Lexi put $5.25 in her bank. She finds $3.50 in her jacket. Does she have more or less than $10.00?

 

Sally is planning to bake pies for the upcoming dinner party. There will be about 37 people there. One pie serves 8 people.  About how many pies should she bake?

Sally plans to bake 5 pies. What is the greatest number of people she can serve?
