Volume is the amount of space an object takes up.

 

The volume of a space figure is the number of
cubic units the figure contains.

 

You can count the cubes to find the volume of a space figure.

1 cubic inch

 

2 cubic inches

 

Find the cubic measure of each figure by counting the cubes.

Example One:


By counting the cubes you can see that there are 6 cubes.

Volume = 6 cubic inches


 

Find the cubic measure of each figure by counting the cubes.

Example Two:


By counting the cubes you can see that there are 12 cubes.

Volume = 12 cubic inches
