When using a ruler  make sure you use the correct side. (centimeter side)

Put the END of the ruler at the END of the object.

 Then read the ruler to the nearest half (0.5) centimeter.

This shark is 13.5 centimeters.

  Not all rulers measure in centimeters.

Check corner for the unit of measure!!
