When you read you should always ask yourself:

WHERE?
Where does the story or poem take place?
Is it in the forest, house, outside, inside etc.
HOW?
You want to know how something happens in a story or poem.

WHY?
You want to know why something happens in a story or poem.

Read the poem below and see if you can pick out
 WHERE, HOW and WHY.

Bring Your Own Lunch
by Bruce Lansky

Don't eat school lunches--
not even a lick.
They might make you nauseous.
They might make you sick.

Just take a small bite and
you'll start to feel ill.
If the veggies
don't get you,
the meatloaf sure will.

Where
The poem takes place in school.

How
You will get sick if you eat, lick or take a small bite.

Why
They might make you nauseous. They might make you sick
