Puffins

Puffins belong to the family of seabirds called Alcidae.  There are 4 kinds of puffins.  Puffins are 10 inches tall, which is about the height of a quart jug of milk.  The puffin weighs about 500 grams, which is about the same weight as a can of soda.  Atlantic Puffins are found only in the North Atlantic Ocean in North America.  Adult puffins mostly eat small fish and live for about 20 years or more.  Puffins make loud growling calls usually from underground which sounds like a muffled chainsaw.  Puffins only lay 1 egg per year.

When you are done writing about puffins share it
