What does sequence mean?

Sequence is the order in which things happen.

Let's look at the order in which things happen.

John decided to go for a bike ride one day.  As he was riding along he hit a bump and fell off his bike. John scraped up his knee and knew he needed a band-aid.  He picked himself up and went home so his mom could clean up his knee and put on a band aid. 
 

FIRST John went for a bike ride.
SECOND he hit a bump as he was riding along and fell.
THIRD he hurt his knee and needed a band aid.
LAST he went home so his mom could clean up his knee and put a band aid on.

Read the mixed up story below and think about what should be
first, second, third, next and last.

Her recital was perfect. On Saturday morning Sue jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to see if it was time to go yet.  That night she couldn't sleep she was so nervous. Sue had her final piano lesson on Friday morning before her first recital.  Sue didn't make a single mistake.
