Austin was a very timid boy.  In class when the teacher would call on him he was so quiet she could hardly hear his answer.  Austin would not play with the other kids in the class, he liked to play by himself.

What does timid mean?

On Halloween night a small boy was petrified when he saw a very scary monster.  He quickly grabbed on to his mother's hand and began to cry.  When she asked him what was wrong he told her that the monster scared him.  His mother made him feel better when she reminded him it was Halloween and it was someone in a costume.

The massive elephant put on a show at the zoo yesterday.  After the show the trainer brought the elephant to the fence for the children to pet.  He was so big when you looked at him up close.  The elephant looked at us like we were tiny ants.

Yesterday I saw a minute insect.  The insect was so tiny I had to get my magnifying glass to see him.  I have never seen such a little bug before.
