Ideas for the Classroom:

• Give the students a writing sample containing word pairs that could be contractions.  Have them edit the piece by replacing the word pairs with the contractions.  

• Create a hands on center activity that matches contractions with their word pair.  Examples called "Pencil Pals"  and "Boo-loons!" can be found in File Folder Games.
