This homework assignment provides practice with use of descriptive adjectives. You will need to provide each student with a paper lunch bag. The child will take the lunch bag home and choose one object to put in the bag. Before putting the object in the bag the student will write 5 adjectives that describe the object on the outside of the bag. Once the object is inside the bag, it will be taped or stapled shut and brought back to school.

The next day, each student will read the clues (adjectives) to see if their classmates can guess the object. If no one is successful in guessing the object, the student can use sentences to give additional clues. The object can be shown once it is guessed. The student who guesses the object will be next to have a turn.

Be sure to remind students to ask for parent permission before taking the object they have chosen. Also, remind them to keep their object top secret!
