• date is in the upper right hand side of the paper

• month is capitalized

• space between the month and date

• comma between the date and year

• space between the comma and year

• Dear is capitalized

• space between Dear and the name     

• name is capitalized

• comma after the name      

• indented the first sentence

• did not indent again until start of a new paragraph       

• lined up with the heading

• capitalized the first word, but not the second word (if there is one)        

• comma after the closing

• lined up with the closing

• capitalized the signature
