Adverbs Telling Where
 


 


 
  Adverbs can be used to tell where an action takes place.
  Where the action takes place effects the meaning of a
         sentence.
  Adverbs give the reader more detail.
  Added detail means a more interesting sentence.
 

Let's take a look at this sentence...

The scary bat was flying!

 

 

Hmmmm...I bet you are very curious!
I bet you're asking yourself,

"Is the scary bat flying outside my house?"

 

 

 

OR

 
"Is the scary bat flying inside my house?"

As you can see, using the adverb "inside" or "outside" makes a big difference in this sentence!

your writing to show where an action takes place.
What an easy way to add detail to your writing!

behind everywhere
around ahead here
over away there

 

Just keep in mind that using adverbs will make your sentences interesting. They will add detail to your writing. They will effect the meaning of your sentences.
