Bats can be found almost everywhere in the world. The only continent they don't live on is Antarctica.  They  prefer warm climates.

 Bats have teeth and fur.  They give birth to live young.  Bats are the only mammals that have wings. Bats come in many sizes. They range in size from a tiny bumblebee to a creature with a six foot wing span.

Some bats have a very strong sense of hearing. They make sounds that bounce off of objects and send echoes back to the bats. From these echoes, the bats can tell the size of objects, how far away they are, and how fast they are traveling.

Bats are very helpful to humans especially farmers.  Some bats can eat up to 600 insects a day. Bats also spread seeds and pollinate flowers.
