  The Hare and the Tortoise

Once there was a Hare who used to laugh at Tortoise because he plodded along so slowly. “You will You'll
You'd      You can    You've
never get anywhere with those short legs.  Look at my long legs!

They are They'll   They're   They'd   They've so swift no one would dare race me.”

All the animals of the forest were tired of listening to Hare brag.   At last Tortoise said, “If we were to run a race,
I am
I'll   I'm   I'd    It's  sure I would beat you."

The animals were amazed for they knew the Tortoise was the slowest of them all.  Hare burst into loud laughter and cried,  “What a joke!  That slowpoke can not won't    wouldn't    can't   called   beat me!  I can beat you before you are even half-started!” “You better not be too sure,” warned Tortoise.

All the animals gathered to watch the race.  At the signal Hare leaped forward in a great bound and soon left the plodding Tortoise far behind.  Looking back, Hare could not even see the Tortoise after a while.

     “I have I'd     I've  I'll   It's  won this race already,” thought Hare.

“There is    There's    They'll      Their    That's  really no reason to hurry.” So Hare decided to take a rest under a shady tree.

“I will   It's      I'll     It's    It is   come in way ahead of that tortoise, anyhow,” he told himself.  Soon he was sound asleep.

In the meantime, Tortoise jogged steadily along on the hot dusty road.  The Tortoise just would not give up. Soon he passed Hare who was sleeping peacefully.

Quietly Tortoise plodded towards the finish line.  When Hare finally woke from his nap, he only heard all the animals cheering the winner.

Boastful and careless, Hare lost the race.  Now he would never be able to count on his speed again.
