Three girls from the Oswego area who became lost while walking one
of the trails at the Great Bear State Park were found just over four
hours later on Saturday night.
Park Superintendent Carl Frost said the girls, two
10-year-olds and a 11-year-old, had been walking on the Tall Oaks Trail with their fathers when they became separated and got on the
Beaver River Trail. After walking for a while on that trail, the
girls then got confused and left the trail before being found by Mr. Frost at around 8:00 p.m.
Frost said the girls were found
approximately 3 miles from where they had begun their walk.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department, The Highway Patrol, the
Oswego Police Department, and members of the Oswego County Rural
Fire District were all called in to help with a search
for the girls, however, the trio was found before an official search
could commence.
