What's a
Cinquain Poem?
It
is a simple form of poetry that follows a specific pattern. The words you
choose and the shape they make on the paper are an important part of the
writing.

A cinquain poem is always written this way!
Here's
the pattern!

one word to name the subject |
spiders |

2: two words to describe it |
creepy,
scary |
| Line
3: three action words about it |
crawling,
spinning, spying |
| Line
4: a four word phrase describing the subject (a thought, not
a complete sentence) |
hiding
in the basement |
| Line
5: one word that means the same thing as the first word, or a word
that sums it all up. |
