Let's
practice deciding if what you hear is
fiction
or non-fiction.
Remember, fiction
is a entertaining, make-believe story that is not real; non-fiction
is true information that gives you facts to explain something.
Listen and decide if what you hear is fiction
or non-fiction.

Sarah
Jane is my cow. Last week she told me a story about how she
got her blue spots. She said when she was little, all she would
eat was blueberries. Blueberries for breakfast, blueberries
for lunch, and blueberries for dinner. One day, she woke up and
she had blue spots!
Cats
make great pets and are easy to take care of. Cats need to
be fed several times a day and eat either dry or canned cat
food. Cats keep themselves clean by washing themselves with their
tongues. Cats like to play with small balls, pieces of yarn and
special cat toys that you can buy.
Many
kids ride the bus to school so it is important to know how to be
safe on a bus. The most important way to be safe while
riding on a bus is to always sit down in your seat. If you are
standing up and the bus stops quickly, you could fall and get
hurt. Another way to be safe when riding the bus is to
always listen to your bus driver. He or she will tell you
when it is safe to cross the street.
Last
night, I heard my Red crayon tell my Blue crayon that he didn't
want to be his friend anymore. The other crayons started to
cry when they heard this! I took my Blue crayon out of the
box and asked him why he didn't want to be Red's friend. He
told me that Red pushed him into the back row and he didn't like
it. I asked Red to apologize; he did, the two were friends
again and the other crayons stopped crying.
