Do you ever get excited around your birthday?  Have you ever been nervous about who you will sit with on the bus the first day of school?  Read the following events that are happening to Mark and Kelley.  Try to think about how they are feeling. Also think about how you would feel if it were happening to you.

      

Mark floated in the water all day long.

Kelley had just finished building a sand castle when somebody stepped on it and crushed the castle!  

Mark looked all around the beach and didn't find anyone he knew.  His friends that were supposed to meet him never showed up.  He had to spend the day all by himself.

Kelley's friend was going to spend the night.
