 Modern Realistic Fiction

                 Books of this genre include
  stories about characters that could live
  today.  And they include actions and
  events that could take place now.

Historical Fiction

You'll enjoy reading Historical fiction if you like to read about realistic characters who lived
in the past. 

    It might be a story about a girl your age who lived when George Washington was President.

Or maybe it's a story about a boy who sailed with Christopher Columbus.

Fantasy

You may enjoy reading stories that are fantasies.  A fantasy might include events that couldn't really happen.  Or it might have characters that aren't realistic (like a talking horse).

is an example of a fantasy. 

Another example of fantasy would be
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Informational Article

This type of book or article is factual.  It is called non-fiction.  An informational article is true.  You can read this type of book to learn about a topic that interests you.

You could read a book about whales or perhaps a book about tornadoes.
