      In this lesson we will be learning about sorting objects according to attributes.  That simply means we will be looking at how we can group things.  In our classroom we learn things can be grouped by size, color, shape and sometimes by the object's use.

Let's look at the objects in this box.

Are they the same object?  They are all the same color and pretty much the same size, but they are different shapes.

We would probably sort these objects by their shape. Our sort would look like this.

Now let's see how we might sort this group of objects.

We see all the same object-hearts.  The hearts are all the same color-red.  What is a way the hearts can be sorted?  They are different sizes.  Our group of hearts can be sorted by size.  

As we look at the set of objects below you may already be seeing how the objects can be sorted.

The lifesavers are all the same size.  They are all the same shape.  They are different colors.  We would sort these lifesavers by color.
