Zero is the identity element for addition.

Zero means nothing or none.

If zero is added to any number, or any number is added to zero, there is no change.

Examples:

5 + 0 = 5  0 + 7 = 7   12 + 0 = 12
0 + 1 = 1 9 + 0 = 9 0 + 4 = 4
24 + 0 = 24 0 + 59 = 59  167 + 0 = 167

Any number plus zero is always the original number!
