Commutative Property

Changing the order of the addends does not change the sum.
5 + 3 + 2 = 10	3 + 5 + 2 = 10
Think: "order."

Changing the order of the factors does not change the product.
5 x 3 = 15	3 x 5 = 15
Think: "order."

Example

4 x 3 x 2 = 2 x 3 x 4

12 x 2 = 6 x 4

24 = 24

Remember: When the ordering of factors is changed, the product remains the same.
