Examples A:    
10 2 = 5 40 5 = 8 90 9 = 10
100 2 = 50 400 5 = 80 900 9 = 100
1000 2 = 500 4000 5 = 800 9000 9 = 1,000

 

Example B:
Find 350 5

First find the basic fact.

350 5 = ?
35 5 = 7
35 tens 5 = 7 tens or 70
Example C:
Find 5,400 9

First find the basic fact.
 5,400 9 = ?
54 9 = 6
54 hundreds 9 = 6 hundreds or 600
