A polygon is a closed plane figure made up of line segments.

A line segment is a side of the figure.

The point is where the sides meet and is called a vertex.
Vertices means more than one vertex.

Examples of polygons:
3 points or vertices 5 points or vertices
3 line segments or sides 5 line segments or sides
