A three-dimensional figure is a figure with width, length, and height. 

 

A face is a flat side of a solid.
          
An edge is where 2 faces of a solid meet.
      

A vertex is where 3 or more faces meet.
      

 

Example:  A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices.
 

 

Example: A square pyramid has 5 faces, 8 edges, and 5 vertices.
