Tally table, tally marks (l) are used to record data.

 Frequency table, numbers are used instead of tally marks.

TALLY TABLE

FREQUENCY TABLE

NUMBER OF BANANAS EATEN
Week Bananas eaten
(Frequency)
Total number of bananas
(Cumulative Frequency)
 
1 6 6  
2 11 17 6 + 11 = 17
3 15 32 17 + 15 = 32
4 7 39 32 + 7 = 39

Frequency column gives the number for each week.

Cumulative frequency gives that day's number plus the sum of the numbers from previous week.

Remember:
Tally table
uses tally marks in rows or columns.

Frequency table uses numbers to show how often something happens.
