 Commutative Property

Factors are the numbers multiplied to get a product.

                                3    x    4     =   12
                                         factor   x   factor  =  product

 In Multiplication
changing the order of the
factors
does not change the product (answer).

Multiply:

3 x 5 = 5 x 3
15 = 15

6 x 4 = 4 x 6
24 = 24

2 x 9 = 9 x 2
    18 = 18

With the Commutative Property,
there can be more than 2
 factors.

Multiply:

3 x 6 x 2 = 6 x 2 x 3
18 x 2 = 12 x 3
36 = 36

4 x 5 x 10 = 4 x 10 x 5
20 x 10 = 40 x 5
200 = 200

 2 x 3 x 4 = 3 x 4 x 2
      6 x 4 = 12 x 2

24 = 24

   REMEMBER :          Changing the order of the factors
                                              does not
change the product.
