Commutative Property

Factors are the numbers multiplied to get a product.

                              3    x    4     =   12
                                      factor   x   factor  =  product

Changing the order of the factors does not change the product.

5 x 3 = 15 3 x 5 = 15
4 x 6 = 24 6 x 4 = 24
2 x 8 = 16 8 x 2 = 16
9 x 3 = 27 3 x 9 = 27

Look at more examples.

3 x 8 = 8 x 3
7 x 4 = 4 x 7
6 x 9 = 9 x 6

Remember: When the order of factors is changed,
                                              the product remains the same.
