Data can be displayed in bar graphs and pictographs.

First, you collect the data in a frequency table.
 

Dog Survey

                   Spaniel

      25
                   Dalmatian       20
                   Setter       15
                   Retriever       30

Then you can display the data in a bar graph.

 

You can also display the data in a pictograph.
 

Dog Survey

        Spaniel
        Dalmatian
        Setter
        Retriever

      Key    = 5 dogs

 

Let's look at another example.

 The data is displayed in a frequency table.

Car Colors

Black 10
Blue 7
Red 5
Silver 15
White 6

 

It can be displayed in a bar graph.


 

And it can also be displayed in a pictograph.
 

Car Colors

     Black
     Blue
     Red
     Silver
     White

         Key:    = 1 car
