Graphs can be used to help explain an answer to a problem.

Let's look at some examples where drawing a graph helps
you to understand and solve a problem.

The Cub Scouts sell pizzas to raise money for their camping trip.

Last year they recorded the number of pizzas they sold and recorded the information in a graph.

This year they are going to sell just one kind of pizza.

Look at the graph to decide what kind of pizza they should sell.

The school store wants to order
t-shirts to sell in the store.

They can only order 2 colors so they wanted to find out what the 2 most popular colors would be.

They surveyed the students and recorded the information in a graph.

Based on the graph, what colors should they order?

Riley school decided to organize an intramural sports program after school for 3rd graders.

They asked the students what
sports they played.

The P.E. teachers organized the data in a graph.

Based on the graph what sport should they choose to play?
