Sometimes guessing is the best strategy to use in solving a problem.

Answer these questions by making a guess.  Make sure your guess makes sense.

1.      It takes Mae half an hour to walk to school and another half
hour to walk home. 
How long does it take to walk both ways?

2.      Todd likes to collect cards.  He has 56 football and baseball cards. 
If he has 4 more baseball cards than football cards,
how many baseball cards does he have?

3.    Jon bought a baseball for $ 4.45 and paid with a $5 bill. 
What was his change?

4.     Billy needs $60 to buy a new skateboard.  If he earns $10 each week mowing lawns, how many weeks will it take him to earn the money?

5. Lori is baking cookies for the bake sale. 
If if she bakes 3 dozen cookies,
how many cookies did she bake?

36 cookies

30 cookies
