  When doing math problems it
  is important to organize the
  information before starting.

After you have finished the problem,
make sure you label your answer
with the correct units.

Here are some examples.

    Natalie has 7 quarters
  Bill gives her 4 more
quarters

How many quarters does Natalie have now?

  7 + 4 = 11

But remember, we need to include the proper units.
  Natalie has 11
quarters.

  Bob scores 2
goals
  Meghan scores 2
goals
  Jake scores 1
goal.

How many goals did the 3 players score?

  2 + 2 + 1 = 5

The 3 players scored 5 goals altogether.
