Step 2: Make a chart with a row
                 for
number of plants and a
                 row for
gallons of water.
Step 3: Complete the chart
                  showing
2 gallons of water
                  for
each tomato plant.
Step 4: Look at the chart to see
                 that
12 gallons will be used
                 for
6 plants.

Step 1: How many pencils are
                 needed for 5 groups?

Step 2: Make a chart with a row
                 for
number of groups and a
                 row for
number of pencils.
Step 3: Complete the chart
                  showing
6 pencils for each
                  group.

Step 4: Look at the chart to see
                 that
30 pencils will be
                 needed for
5 groups.

Step 1: How much can Ben save in
                 7 weeks?

Step 2: Make a chart with a row
                 for
number of weeks and a
                 row for
money saved.
Step 3: Complete the chart
                  showing
$5 for each week.
Step 4: Look at the chart to see
                 that
$35 will be saved
                 in
7 weeks.
