 You can find a multiplication fact by "breaking apart" a fact. Example:  8 x 12 = ? "Break apart" 12 as ( 10 + 2 ) Then multiply  ( 8 x 10 )  + ( 8 x 2 )                            80     +     16 8 x 12  = 96

 You can use a number line. Skip count by 3s. Skip count by 2s.
