The answer  in addition is called the sum.

The answer in subtraction is called the difference.

Will the sum of 2 numbers be odd or even?
Will the
difference of 2 numbers be odd or even?

The sum will be even when the 2 numbers you add are:

both even

         4 + 4 = 8

6 + 8 =
14

both odd

         3 + 36

7 + 5 =
12

The sum will be odd when the 2 numbers you add are:

one odd, one even

             3 + 4 = 7

9 + 6 = 15

The difference will be even when the 2 numbers you subtract are:

both even

         10 - 4 = 6

6 - 2 = 4

both odd

          9 - 36

7 - 52

The difference will be odd when the 2 numbers you subtract are:

one odd, one even

            10 - 7 = 3

8 - 3 = 5

9 - 6 = 3

7 - 2 = 5

Remember:

Will the sum or difference
be odd or even ?
It depends on the numbers you add and subtract.
