It's important to completely understand a problem before you start to solve it.

Restate the problem and then solve.


Babies have 300 bones in their bodies at
 birth. An adult has 206 bones.  How many more bones
 does a baby have that an adult?
 


Liz planted tomatoes in her garden. She planted each plant 2 feet apart.  How many inches is that?
 


Children have 20 teeth and adults have 32
 teeth.  How many more teeth do adults have?
 


4 students were in line at lunch. Martha was not first or fourth. Bob was ahead of Martha but behind Bill. 
 Jake was behind Martha.  What order were the students
 in?
 


Kate ordered lunch.  She had a hamburger for
 $1.79, fries for $.89, and a drink for $1.29.  How much
 change did she get if she paid with a $5.00 bill?
