In advance create two sets of 7
brothers on each of seven colors of construction paper. Cut out
the patterns, label one set with the ordinal words "first"
through "seventh" and label the other set of brothers with
numerals "one" through "seven".
Read the story aloud. Discuss
the story, talking about the number of the brothers and the
ordinal position of the brothers. Share with the children that
to use these cutouts 1 student will sequence the cutouts with
the ordinal numbers. Then he/she will match each of the
numbered cutouts to the corresponding ordinal one. |
