Fish Eyes: A Book You Can Count On by Lois Ehlert First, read the story to them aloud. Put the students into groups of two. Each group of two will need 100 counters. Have the students count along and show that number of counters. The students should alternate so that each partner gets an opportunity to add to the number of counters.
Read the story aloud. Have students pick a number out of a bag, then count out that many precut black circles. Allow them to use the circles in a picture as done in the book. Have them write a sentence at the bottom of the page (__black dots can make a ______). After sharing with the class, bind together to make a class book.
